Oqaatsut Settlement Tour
Discover Oqaatsut, a small Greenlandic settlement north of Ilulissat, and experience a quieter side of life in Disko Bay.
We leave Ilulissat by boat and sail north through the Arctic landscape towards Oqaatsut. Along the way, you can enjoy views of icebergs, mountains and the open sea while your local guide shares stories about the area and life in Greenland.
Oqaatsut is a small settlement with a very different atmosphere from Ilulissat. Here, everyday life is closely connected to the sea, fishing, hunting and the changing seasons.
During our visit, we walk through the settlement and talk about local history, traditions and everyday life. This is a relaxed experience with time to look around, ask questions and get a better understanding of life in one of Greenland’s smaller communities.
After the visit, we return by boat to Ilulissat.
